TRAINING THE BEST FOR THE WORST AT THE CENTER FOR DOMESTIC PREPAREDNESS

Behind every first responder who trains at FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, AL, is a dedicated team working to ensure they are prepared for anything. Supporting first responders who train on campus and through the CDP’s Non-Resident/Indirect/External Agency/Virtual training programs from all 50 states, U.S. territories and several foreign countries is a massive puzzle. The Potawatomi Training Support Services Team handles every piece of that puzzle with precision, guiding first responders through the process from start to finish.

The magic of the training support services team lies within the people themselves. The team consists of a group of 85 dedicated team members who assist first responders with registration, travel, transportation, classroom materials, records archival, and 24-hour on-call support to students on campus.  From registration to graduation, the Potawatomi Team works hard to make it a seamless journey. From the clerk who prepares an in-processing folder to the shuttle bus driver, every team member plays an important role in empowering our nation’s emergency personnel to save lives when disaster strikes. The Potawatomi team is building a foundation for a safer nation at the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, AL.
